Police ID man run over and killed on I-69, looking for black sedan

WOODHULL TWP, – Police have released the name of the man killed in an early morning crash Tuesday on Interstate 69 in Shiawassee County.

James Edward Ware, 51, of Morrice, was killed about 4:37 a.m. on Nov. 20 when he lost control of the pickup truck he was driving east on I-69 near Bath Road, crossed the median and was struck by a semi, the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Ware was ejected from his vehicle and was run over by a black sedan, which left the scene, police said.

Police are still trying to find the person who was driving the sedan. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call investigators at 989-743-3411, extension 7223.

The crash had I-69 closed for hours on Tuesday during the investigation.
